The schedule below shows what took place during the 2008 Daytona Beach Dream Cruise. We're planning at this time for the Oct. 23-25, 2009 event and will take down the 2008 schedule and replace it with a preliminary 2009 schedule in the near future. Then as we get closer to the 2009 event, that schedule will be refined. Check back here occasionally. Fri. Oct. 24 - Starting at 6:00 p.m. Terrific kickoff - See talented Elvis Tribute Artists competing in the "Images of the King Contest" at Pub 44, overlooking the Halifax River, 115 Main Street, Daytona Beach 32118. Elvis Historian Jim Shirah emceed this tribute to the King of Rock-n-Roll. Check-in of special cars and trucks for the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise began the following day, at the Volusia Mall, as specified below. Sat. Sat. Oct. 25 - All day long. Lots of gatherings of special cars & trucks throughout the area, many of these being make-oriented and club-oriented. Sat. Oct. 25 - 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Early morning rain caused an hour delay in the start of check-in of all cars and trucks participating in the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise in the north eastern area of the parking lot at the Volusia Mall, 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd., across from the Daytona Int'l Speedway. The rain delay created a long line of cars waiting to be checked in but check-in moved quickly once it began and we appreciate everyone's understanding. At check-in, vehicles registered on this web site not later than Oct. 20 were photographed as soon as the rain stopped, and up until 6:00 p.m. and their owners by mailing their photo pickup form in a self-addressed stamped envelope (big enough to hold the really special 4" x 6" photo) will their free photo. All vehicles whether or not registered online by Oct. 20 got a dash plaque windshield sticker and important schedule and map info and an ID card needed to be eligible for great door prize drawings at Sunday's final gathering. ![]() Sat. Oct. 25 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Open house at Raabe Racing, 1870 Mason Ave, Daytona Beach 32114. This diversified, state-of-the-art facility can fabricate anything for special vehicles. Raabe Racing has a specialized engine department capable of building and tuning any engine, from mild to wild, for street, drags & other racing applications. There were tours of their huge sophisticated shop, tech sessions and dyno demonstrations, and prize drawings. Raabe Racing is located at the corner of Mason Avenue & Fentress Blvd, just one mile north of Crane Cams on Fentress Blvd, so it will be easy to visit both Sat. morning / afternoon.
Sat. Oct. 25 - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open house at the world headquarters of Crane Cams, 530 Fentress Blvd, Daytona Beach, 32114 (enter at north via Dunn Ave). Known for valve train and ignition components, Crane Cams has other brands you may not be aware of such as MikroMax high performance ring & pinions. There was a brief tour of the areas of the plant where rocker arms, lifters and camshafts are manufactured. Sat. Oct. 25 - 5:00 p.m. - until. "Sock Hop at the Hatch". Lots of people had a great time enjoying the Rock'n Roll, by heading to Down the Hatch Seafood Company, 4884 Front St., Ponce Inlet, 32127 (Beach St. at the River, three tree-lined blocks north of the Ponce Inlet Light House). There were staff picks for best hot rod, best 50's & 60's car, best muscle car, long distance award, plus contests for dance, hula hoop & eating, food & beverage specials. ![]() Sat. Oct. 25 - 9:00 p.m. - until. Car lovers also came to see owner J. R.'s custom '54 Olds at Hollywood Cantina, 116 N. Beach St., Daytona Beach, 32114 (downtown in the block north of ISB). This was a fun place after being at other Saturday venues, with free pool and games after the 9:00 p.m. Volusia Mall event. Also a good place for lunch Friday and Saturday, opening at 11:00 a.m. both days.
