The Center for Florida History combines interactive experiences, exhibitions, and objects to tell the story of Florida’s historical and cultural development, from prehistory to present. The Center is home to the most complete fossil record discovered in Florida. There are interesting permanent exhibits entitled Africa: Life and Ritual, Gallery of Chinese Art, Cuba - A History in Art Cuba, Gallery of American Art, The Roots family collection- consisting of 800 Teddy Bears, decorative arts and more.

Visited by over 100,000 people each year, Florida’s tallest Lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark, one of only 10 lighthouses with this designation. Visitors who climb the 175-foot-tall lighthouse tower are treated to a magnificent view of the Florida coastline and Halifax River from Daytona Beach to New Smyrna Beach. The grounds feature a historical and nautical museum featuring a Fresnel Lens exhibit, artifacts on lighthouse life, shipwrecks, a gift shop and more.
